With its narrow cobblestone streets, old city walls, and friendly gay scene, Quebec City seems to have everything for a magical trip. As soon as you arrive in the charming quarter known as "Old Quebec," you'll realize this city, founded in by Samuel de Champlain, is like no place else in North America. The friendly locals speak predominantly French, but in tourist areas and gay bars and restaurants you'll manage with English. No matter what the season, there are always special events taking place in Quebec City. Jean Lesage International Airport is about 12 miles northwest of downtown.

Although Quebec City only has a couple of true gay bars along with three gay saunas , this festive and very social city has no shortage of inviting hangouts that cultivate a mixed gay-straight following, everything from craft breweries to wine bars to romantic restaurants. One neighborhood where you really can't go wrong in terms of positive energy and LGBT diversity is St Jean, specifically along Rue St-Jean, where you'll encounter dozens of gay-popular eateries, especially as you head west from Avenue Honore Mercier for several blocks. Inside the historic Old City and down in Lower Town amid the design hotels and often quite fashionable and romantic eateries rue St-Paul and rue Saint-Vallier E, you'll also find plenty of wonderful spots. And down the hill from the St Jean district in the lively Saint-Roch neighborhood, on the blocks near the campus of University of Quebec especially where rue de la Couronne intersects with rue St-Joseph E , you'll also find a slew of hip and often arty cafes, bars, and restaurants that pull in plenty of LGBT patrons. All three of the city's gay saunas are well-located, too, in appealing neighborhoods that aren't far from attractions and hotels. One of these, Sauna Hippocampe, is actually attached to a very nice gay and lesbian accommodation, Hotel Hippocampe — the latter has an entirely separate entrance from the sauna and is a very nice place to stay, whether or not you plan to use the bathhouse facilities, as it's just within the historic walls of the Old City and just a few blocks from the fun restaurants, boutiques, and shops along Rue Saint-Jean.
Rooms were all booked in the inn part but there was many roomettes available in the bathouse section. For a gay person just wanting to spend a night on the cheap side this is more than ok i You bring earplugs! Of course access to the steam room, dry sauna and whirlpool.
